DAYTON THEATRE GUILD OPENING NIGHT GALA (AKA: DTG OPENING NIGHT GALA, GUILD OPENING NIGHT GALA, or OPENING NIGHT GALA) |
|
A long standing tradition at The Dayton Theatre Guild (DTG), an acclaimed non-professional theatre founded in Dayton, Ohio in 1945. As do some other theatres, both professional and non-professional, DTG hosts a reception following the opening night performance of each production. Wine, other beverages, and catered food are offered to the audience members who also have a chance to mingle with the actors, the director, DTG board members, and usually at least some of the crew for the production. As of the 2015/2016 season, the food has been gourmet pizza provided by Wheat Penny Oven & Bar, which is located across the street from the theatre. In the past, other professional caterers provided the food, as did some personal volunteers who were either on the board of directors or were otherwise associated with the theatre company. | |
