DAYTON THEATRE GUILD MURPHY AWARDS
(AKA: THE MURPHYS, THE MURPHY AWARDS)

The Murphys are the in-house theatre awards at The Dayton Theatre Guild (DTG), an acclaimed non-professional theatre founded in Dayton, Ohio in 1945. As do other theatres, both professional and non-professional, DTG gives out awards at the end of each theatrical season recognizing the contributions both on stage and off stage for that just completed season. The awards are given at an annual gathering, either an inside smorgasbord or a picnic, or some combination of both. All casts and crew from the season as well as the patrons who purchased a season ticket package, and guests of all such people gather for the celebration of the completed season.
