During one of my two(?), maybe three stops at Graeter's while I was in Cincy. I can't really tell you why it took me close to two years to finally get this recounting of Summer Vacation Get Away 2021 finished and published, save that clearly many other things have taken priority, and not unreasonably. It's not that such accounts don't have their value, but something like the On-Liner Notes page has more immediate relevance to a website about "my artistic world"; though reporting about the things that feed my soul is not wholly irrelevant to my art life. Plus, working on music and visiting an art museum certainly up the relevance anti. As I wrote on the intro page, this was one of the best vacations I have ever taken, and I didn't even do anything amazing like leave the country, which I've only done once in my life: a trip to Montreal when I was 27. Still, this particular vacations was in some ways akin to reading an adventure novel, especially my stay at The Wilds, where it was easy to mentally transport myself to other parts of the world where the particular animals, I was interacting with at any given time, are from. Granted, I know that the climate and habitate would be different than eastern Ohio in the summer, but, the imagination creates the best SPFX ever known to humanity. This vacations was definitely one of those that I did not want to come home from ‐‐ but I'll clue you in, pretty much all of them are. One last thing: when in the Dayton area, it's a popular recommendation that one stops at Young's Jersey Dairy for their most-excellent ice cream. When in Cincinnati, it's Graeter's. There was one relatively close to my hotel when I was in the city for the Cincy Zoo and the Art Museum, and I made a few trips there, because: ICE CREAM! I have friends who, for both vacations and for business reasons, take envious trips to Europe, or Australia, New Zealand, Africa, even Alaska. I am jealous and at some point I hope to make at least some of these treks. But, still, I can relish a vacation like I had with Summer Vacation Get Away 2021.
